Originally constructed as a warehouse, 730 Leonard Street NW was an under-utilized building on the Northwest side of Grand Rapids. The solid brick building has been converted into 10 studio and 8 one-bedroom apartments, featuring balconies, stainless steel appliances and quartz counter tops.

A windowless warehouse adjacent to our newly renovated building held tremendous potential! This brick structure gained a third floor, windows and sliding glass doors. The finished project added 10 apartments to the 730 Leonard building (access through the lobby on McReynolds), plus 1,032 square feet of ground level retail space.

The studio and one-bedroom apartments feature balconies, stainless steel appliances and high-end finishes, as well as video security and indoor bicycle storage. The expanded property is fully compliant with the GR2030 District.
A vacant brownfield on the southern edge of downtown Grand Rapids Grand Rapids will be developed into housing and commercial space. The mixed-use campus will offer 58 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, in addition to 2400 sq/ft of retail space.

The new construction building will be fully compliant with the GR2030 District. It will be an all-electric, energy efficient building, providing lower utility bills for tenants. Additionally, healthy air goals will be achieved with no air recirculation between units or common spaces. Each unit will receive 100% fresh air through the HVAC system. The new apartments will feature quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and fiber optic internet.

Mike Coyne serves as Chief Executive Officer of Cella Building Company. Mike is a skilled executive with over 30 years leadership experience in areas such as multi-family and mixed-use development, construction, transportation, healthcare services, logistics and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Mike spent the last 15 years in Officer/C- Level roles managing multiple locations through the United States and Canada. Mike has been involved with M&A from both side of the transaction, with deals ranging from as large as $750 million to as small as $2 million.
Mike also serves as Chairman of the Board for ASA Group LLC. ASA Group provides capital and management expertise to invest in small businesses that have a proven competitive advantage. Primary areas of investment for ASA focus are Service Industries, Real Estate Development, Industrial Light Manufacturing and Healthcare Services. The ASA Group provides strategic, operational, marketing, merger and acquisition support to companies which are in transition due to acquisitions, restructuring, distressed performance or stock distribution.
Outside of Mike’s executive career, Mike serves on the board of directors for Ave Maria Press, a Notre Dame, Indiana, publishing company. Mike has served as the Vice Chairman of the Saint Joseph Health System Foundation Board. Mike served as the Treasurer of the American Heart Association Michiana Chapter and served as Board Chairman for the 2015 Heart Association Heart walk. Mike has spoken at many industry conferences, has appeared as an industry expert on PBS television as well as in the news media and considered an expert in recognizing industry trends and opportunities. Mike completed his undergraduate studies at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a Master's Degree in Business Administration at Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois.
